Let's be honest, slow changes to earth's surface don't really excite kids the way that rapid changes do. Kids are much more interested in watching volcanoes erupt than glaciers moving down a mountain. An earthquake completely destroying a city in minutes is much more fun to learn about that a trickling stream slowly carving out a canyon. _x000D_ _x000D_ During this session, we will look at how crackers, sugar cubes, tortillas, and cereal can make slow changes come alive for students. These labs are high motivation, low prep, low-stress alternatives to messy stream tables and boring worksheets. After each mini-lab activity, we will tie it back to the TEKS and show how these lab activities transfer to STAAR success.
