Productive student conversations and writing supports student learning. Providing students with a platform to integrate hands-on experiences with student discourse and writing scaffolds provides foundational support for student learning and growth. Attend this session to learn how to level up your classroom with research-based strategies for student discourse and writing. Get your students excited talking and writing about science. Attendees will experience first-hand how to incorporate student discourse in hands-on science activities. Participants will walk through a hands-on activity and compile a toolkit of strategies they can use to promote student discourse, writing and engagement.
