In this engaging and hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make the best out of your field trips to the Dallas Zoo (or any other site) through pre- and post- activities. What are student learning objectives during the field trip? What can students do before the field trip to help them understand these objectives? What can students do after the field trip to expand on their learning? Could your students take the lead on a campaign to protect gorillas or Texas horned lizards? How can this learning help students understand classroom objectives? From Adaptations to Food Webs and Basic Needs to Biotic and Abiotic Factors, real world science on a field trip can support classroom learning objectives. Let’s work through some pre- and post-activities to see how your field trip can be your students’ key to making sense of things.
